A. The Operation Round Up program is a separate entity with its own board consisting of 6 members appointed by the HOTEC Board of Directors. Current board members include: Damon Boniface, Ingrid Martine, Veronica Grusendorf, Barbara Rusling, Paul Edge, and A.W. Zajicek.
Q. Are the Directors of the Trust paid?
A. No, they volunteer their time and are only compensated for out-of-pocket expenses.
Q. Who can apply for Operation Round Up funds?
A. Non-profit and civic organizations within HOTEC's service area.
Q. What is the maximum amount an organization can receive from Operation Round Up?
A. Eligible organizations may receive up to $2,500 annually.
Q. What uses are specifically prohibited for Operation Round Up money?
A. No funds of the Trust can be used to support any candidate for political office or for any political purpose. No funds can be used to support any type of for-profit organization or venture. No funds will be distributed to churches or individuals.
Q. Will this money be used to pay delinquent electric bills?
A. No, not directly. There are charitable organizations that help with electric bills. Those organizations may request funds from Operation Round Up.
Q. When does the Heart of Texas Electric Trust Board of Directors meet?
A. The Board meets quarterly during the months of March, June, September, and December.
Q. When are applications due at the Heart of Texas Electric Cooperative office?
A. Any application received before a meeting of the Operation Round Up Board will be considered at the meeting.

Q. How do I participate?
A. Contact the HOTEC office and ask to be included in Operation Round Up.
Q. Is the contribution tax deductible?
A. No. Heart of Texas Electric Trust Fund is not a charitable organization exempt under IRS section 501(c)(3), so contributions are not tax deductible.
